Helping you make peace with food and your body so you can live your life freely.

Does this sound like you?

You spend your day obsessing over food and planning each and every thing you eat. You have a birthday dinner for a friend coming up and you spend the whole day feeling anxious about what you are going to order because eating out makes you nervous. You feel like you can’t trust yourself around food and feel out of control when it comes to eating. Maybe you know that restricting yourself in this way isn’t good for you, but it helps you feel better and it’s too scary to let yourself eat what you want to eat and feel what you really feel. You weigh yourself often and the number on the scale can determine your mood for the whole day.

You’ve likely been struggling with this for a while, but recently you’ve realized that what you are doing hasn’t been working. It is so painful to feel alone in your feelings of sadness, anxiety, overwhelm, stress, fear, uncertainty, and more. If you’re reading this now, it’s because a part of you knows that it doesn’t have to be this way and you can have a life that is free from the eating disorder.

Recovery is possible.

My name is Becky, and I know that you can recover from this. I am here to support you in helping you find relief, grow, and find greater self-acceptance. I am here to show you that you deserve support and to help you learn to value yourself as much as you value others. Through or work together, I’ll support you in making peace with food and moving away from eating disorder behaviors. I will help you challenge the eating disorder thoughts and incorporate mindfulness tools so you can manage the thoughts and feelings that arise with a greater sense of ease. We will work with self-compassion to help you be able to care for yourself even when things are hard. I will provide a supportive space to explore and understand the ways the eating disorder has helped you, and what may be contributing to it so you can heal more deeply and fully than just managing behaviors. We will explore what is beneath the symptoms of the eating disorder to understand the ways it is protecting you and what it might be communicating to you about your deeper needs. Through compassionate therapy and unwavering support, I will help you recover from your eating disorder or disordered eating so you can feel more at peace with food and with yourself.

I am anti-diet culture, firmly fat positive, Health at Every Size® aligned, and am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. I use these lenses as the foundation of my work and believe that you do not have to change your body. I use Intuitive Eating to help you let go of rules around food and trust your own internal sense of what you need. We will explore, name, and challenge the larger systems and relational experiences you may have had that have told you that your body determines your worth, that certain bodies are valued more than others, and that you aren’t enough exactly as you are. We will work to identify your values and values that align with body liberation and the belief that all bodies, regardless of size, deserve freedom from oppression.

My compassionate and relational approach to therapy helps you find more ease and self-acceptance by creating a space for you to feel connected, cared for, and to allow your full self to unfold.  If you are wanting to find wholeness and embrace life’s challenges with grace and compassion, let’s work together.
